In Sweden’s national climate policy framework, the government sets out its vision for a fossil-free Sweden and aims towards zero net emissions by 2045. Sweden’s electricity consumption is expected to increase sharply in the coming years, as a result of industry and transport being electrified and phasing out fossil fuels. The government has now decided on Sweden’s first marine spatial plans.

Freja Offshore is a joint venture between Hexicon & Mainstream Renewable Power, established to develop, build and operate offshore wind farms in Sweden. Freja Offshore’s project portfolio has the potential to generate several terawatt hours (TWh) of fossil-free electricity to supply over one million Swedish homes with renewable energy.
